PROTOTYPING

To determine the perfect balance between horsepower and torque, our design team obtains data from a prototype model and uses CAD (Computer-Aided Design) to design and manufacture the exhaust system. CAD allows designers to simulate and calibrate optimal hydrodynamic models more precisely. All the CAD designs are stored in an in-depth database, which provides invaluable and critical information to continually enhance.

With the intention of making the pipeline smoother and fitter, we use the unique pipe bending machine to reduce the joints of the pipeline and will probably lower the joints issues. A 3D Laser cutting technology is used alongside this process when encountering some joints that can’t be bent. After running computer calculations cuts are made to produce joints that are close to each other and improve durability of the product.

Each set of the exhaust systems by RES EXHAUST will go through three manual polishing procedures. During this step both inner and outer walls are polished. This reduces unevenness of the pipe wall to improve exhaust gas flow efficiency.

PROTOTYPE  DESIGN


The development process starts with 3D SolidWorks/CAD software, first 3D scanning the underbody of the reference vehicle, and then evaluating and optimizing the structural stiffness, fatigue and thermal load of the designed exhaust system through CAE simulation and measurement. This lays a sufficient data foundation for the production of a high-performance exhaust system, and finally the mold is opened and constructed through RES' professional production concept.

THE BEST MATERIALS

Its fully equipped metallurgical laboratory for metallography assessment is a necessary tool for evaluating the properties and quality of products and for gauging the end results. Through the use of over 30 years of in-house knowledge and technologies in handling special materials for exhaust systems, such as titanium, stainless steel, and aluminium alloys, RES devotes meticulous care to chemical compositions and gas content, which is crucial for the quality of cast titanium parts. Hardness and micro-hardness measurements, tensile properties, plastic properties, and formability determinations are carried out for all incoming and new materials. Such regular procedures ensure the highest quality of the final product and the use of the best materials.
 

 

PRODUCTION

Great ideas need to be brought to fruition in a great and state-of-the-art product. Various technologies in the production process makes this possible. It is a synthesis of expertise from various engineering spheres such as tube making, bending, cold forming and deep drawing, stamping, cutting, welding, assembly processing, modern CNC machining, quality inspection, and many others. Of course, the basis for everything is proper tooling – it is the key to success. The company boasts an in-house tooling design and tooling workshop, and so it is able to design and produce unique tools and jigs. Furthermore, RES has over two decades of experience using titanium alloys for exhaust system applications.
